During a leisurely afternoon on a flats boat exploring the Florida Bay, we came across this gorgeous osprey perching high in the mangroves, its recent catch still glistening in its talons. As we approached, the osprey glared at me, stink-eye style as if to warn us not to bring the boat closer. I loved the intensity of its golden eyes, the symmetry of the markings of the face, the perfection of its polished beak.
