An intimate portrait of a vanishing species. A close look at the Grevy’s zebra reveals a striking hide of razor-thin white stripes etched across black, each pattern uniquely its own. The Grevy’s Zebra is the largest zebra of the species. Their unique stripes are as distinctive as human fingerprints. Their ears are larger and their stripes narrower than other zebras. Grevy’s zebras are seriously threatened, due to illegal hunting and habitat loss. The population today is about 2,800, and the Grevy's is listed as endangered on the Red List of Threatened Species.
