A giraffe approached a watering hole in the Chyulu Hills, Kenya, where several of us were perched in a hide. It was the first time I had seen a giraffe in the wild attempt a drink. It took several attempts for it to stretch its legs to perfectly perch over the shallow pool without tipping over. It put its lips to the water and took a long drink; when it lifted its head, the water came streaming from its mouth in a momentary cascade. Slurp!
