This nocturnal Atlantic Dancing Shrimp, also known as red night shrimp or red coral shrimp, received its common “dancing” name due to its habit of consistently jerky movements. Measuring only about 3 inches, these tiny crustaceans are difficult to find, especially at night. This shrimp behaved quite well for photographs, circumnavigating the rim of a vibrant azure vase sponge before ducking inside to hide.
